THE WHITE MULBERRY PROJECT EVENT

Welcome to my backyard where the plant kingdom runs wild!ย

This event is the culmination of three years of development of theย Eco-Garden Projectย where I’ve allowedย my yard and garden to rewild as I documentย all the plant species on the property. Each discovery is intensely explored through history, science, artย andย culinary experiments.

The White Mulberry Project: A Silk Road Runs Through Itย is the firstย exhibition in the series. It will feature two sculptural worksย inspired by the discovery of white mulberry trees in my backyardย which have historical links to Whitehall’s former silk industry and a fascinating history.

I’ll shareย storiesย of backyard rewilding, foraging, the silk industry, mulberry mania and silkmoth sky puppies. A special treat will enhance โ€œthe mulberry experience.โ€

Many thanks to Amit Kackrot, Founder and Director of Teas for Wildlife, who created an exquisite white mulberry leaf tea especially for The White Mulberry Project, which will be served at the August 26 event.

The custom blend features white mulberry leaves with hibiscus and mint for a very special “mulberry experience.” The packaging honors the Bombyx mori silk moth that produces some of the most sought-after silk in the world.

Teas for Wildlife works with private tea plantations to develop sustainable practices to protect wildlife that inhabit the properties. Visit teasforwildlife.com
