Biodiversity Inventory

In 2022, Kovalosky began work on this All-Taxa Biodiversity Inventory to identify all the plant species on her homestead property in a small rural town in Northeastern New York. The inventory will continue to be updated as new species are discovered…or arrive through natural means or by introduction.

Over 50 Plant Species Identified to Date

Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)
This red clover is among the oldest species on the property, dating back to at least 1962 despite having been weeded, mowed and otherwise ignored. It is now a permanent resident of the vegetable garden.
